August 2023 Newsletter
A Quick Intro: My name is Guy Henwood-Fox, I am 16 from South Africa. 
I am a happy, friendly person who is always willing to share a joke or two. I am extremely determined to get things done on whatever I put my mind to. I am incredibly focused on trying to solve the Climate Change crisis. I enjoy working with renewable energy and wildlife conservation. I like to put myself out of my comfort zone and enjoy trying to solve challenging problems. I stay positive in even the most difficult of times and I am a big mindset/meditation believer. I like to stand up for what I believe in and share what I know. I enjoy working with teams and getting to understand the different perspectives of other people.
I enjoy doing Sports Like field hockey and Open water swimming, I also play the clarinet.

This has been something that I have been doing for a long time and is something I am really passionate about. We need to try and prevent climate change and I believe this is it, the way, Fusion energy.
Exciting Times!
It has been one month since I joined TKS and I am no longer part of Innovate but now an Alumni, next month I will be joining Activate which is the second year of TKS.

This Video goes through everything I wanted to achieve in TKS Innovate, Looking back I achieved everything and so much more, from personal growth, team building, networking, creating ideas, getting deeper into the things I love, presentations articles and lots about who I am as a person.
I have made another video for 2024 August and I am looking forward to seeing what I can achieve this year. I will share it in 2024 and keep you in the loop as I continue to learn, grow, and explore.
Hockey Tour🏑
This month we went to represent our school at the South African Top 12 schools hockey tournament in Cape Town. This was an amazing experience where our hard work and determination showed our true character.
Just A little Story:
At the beginning of the season, we looked at our team and we did not feel very confident as we had very few star ⭐️ players and on paper were not the best. So in our minds, our goals were just to try and get through each game without being destroyed.
As the season went on we started showing our true colours and we started to play as a team, winning lots of our games. The mindset shifted and our goal was to make the South African top 12 schools tournament, which we then did.
Now coming from not wanting to get destroyed to now making South African Top schools we have come a long way as a team. When we arrived at the top schools our goals changed again and the new goal was to be #1. With our determination and grit, we managed to come 5th in the Tournament, placing us 5th in the Country.
Don’t get destroyed ➡️ Making SA U16 Top 12 ➡️ Trying to become #1 (This was the way of the goals as the season went on.)
This was a huge experience and many lessons were learned like, don’t count your chickens before they hatch, or Reach for the stars and land on the moon, or Teamwork makes the dream work.
What a way to end the season!! Thanks to all my teammates who went through the season with me and made it one to remember.
Musical 2023 🎉🎶
The Musical of 2023 was a huge success, after having 3 nights of shows of which 2 were completely sold out. It was a highlight of the year. I played my clarinet in the musical for many of the songs. It was a whole lot of fun and excitement, which is something you need in your life!
*Thank goodness nobody saw me fall off the stage when I was playing. 😂🤣
